I have advice for those who are out there indulging in some online shopping . I recently bought a unique wall sign with a personalized message included . Luckily I knew a couple tricks and things to look for because I almost got stung! I can’t remember where but I read somewhere that you need to make sure the site your on is secure by making sure that there is a padlock symbol up next to the address bar .
I always make sure it is there before any of my personal information gets entered. Of course we are all leery of entering our financial information on a site, especially site that we have not tried yet!! Another tip I read was that when you are entering your credit card information make sure that the address for the site goes from a http to a shttp or https . Apparently that little s is meant to tell me the site is secure, or at least that portion of the site.
The word “encrypted” always makes me smile, too. Of course keeping my payment and transaction information just between me and the seller is always appreciated . Just as I was about to start typing like mad and entering my credit card information for that personalized sign, I stopped and looked around. There was neither padlock sign nor an extra s anywhere to be seen.
I always like to stop before ording anything and search for a few reviews and information on the company . I had a couple sites pop up that were not fan sites!! I ended up going somewhere else and even though they had the same personalized bar signs I changed my mind once I saw the personalized beer mugs and personalized can koozies. Everything was just right as well as secure, the items arrived on time and looked great.
Remember to make sure your site is secure before you buy. Safe and happy shopping.
